© Lynn Carey Saylor / SSRC, Inc 2014 I’m pleased to report that we had a very successful day of raising money and awareness about suicide prevention at the 7th annual “Walk With Hope” fundraiser on March 8, 2014. As part of “Team Chris & Erin”, we collectively raised $3,775.00, which was the most amount of money of any participating team for the WITH HOPE THE AMBER CRAIG MEMORIAL FOUNDATION INC! This Orange County, CA based non-profit organization s dedicated to suicide prevention through improving mental health support services and education in schools and throughout the community.  I had a ball singing BG vocals in this "choir" of super talented session singers for a PeerMusic project that will be used to promote the World Cup in 2014. Kevin Teasley (center in photo) of Distortion Music & Sound Design produced the music which will air in various media markets to promote this world-wide event. My song “This Is Your Life” (track #2 on my “You Like It Clean” CD) was licensed for use in the movie Scents and Sensibility, which aired initially on the Lifetime Movie Network, but has since made its way to the UK (according to my most recent BMI statement!).  It is also now available on DVD at Amazon.com at this link. You can’t miss the song, as almost 2 minutes of it plays prominently in the first 10 minutes of the movie. Thanks to SunWorld Pictures for selecting my song for their film!  Was an honor to be inducted into the Las Vegas Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame for my first ever band, “The American Dots” (pictured at left playing the now infamous “Concert in the Park” gig in Las Vegas before a crowd of 10,000 back in the day). We got this snazzy certificate, but the real prize was just seeing everyone after so many years!         Here is us now... From left: Andy Mattuecci (bass), Steve Heath (lead guitar, vocals), Me (rhythm guitar, vocals) and Michael Graves (drums, vocals). It’s always an honor when a song of mine gets singled out for mention in a high profile songwriting contest. This Finalist certificate at left is from the UK Songwriting Contest for an unreleased song of mine called “Long Slow Kiss”. The song received a near-perfect score of 9/10. I have written both a duet version of this song as well as a female vocal only version. I’m the sole writer of the song. You’re likely to hear it on my next album, probably in the duet version with a fab singer named Lee Miles doing the male parts. So I penned this little hard rocking number called “BLACKENED PEARL” with Chris Johnson (programmer of Evanescence’s hit “Bring Me To Life”), which was hand picked by David Caruso of CSI Miami fame for a Horror/Suspense film he was a producer of called “REHAB”, starring Gale Harold. The song was licensed quite a while ago and there is now some thought that the film may have been shelved for one reason or another, but I hope it eventually at least gets released to DVD. The song is featured heavily in the opening sequence of the finished film I’m told and here in the trailer I’ve posted, you can hear it towards the end of it. If you’d like to hear the song in its entirety, it’s posted at this ReverbNation link. “Blackened Pearl” is also available to purchase as a “GuitarGirls Soundtracks” single on iTunes.
