Lynn biography

Lynn Carey Saylor is a Dean Markley and SPG Guitars endorsed singer/songwriter/guitarist.

Lynn first garnered a world-wide fan base following the release in 2002 of a limited edition single of her self-penned "IF WE BELIEVE", featuring superstar guitarist Brian May of QUEEN.  "If We Believe" is a positively themed song about racial tolerance and has garnered much attention around the Internet and gained Lynn many new fans from all around the world since its release. There were just 1,000 of the limited edition signed and hand numbered singles of the song printed, making the disc a highly collectable item for anyone who is a fan of Lynn, Brian May or supergroup QUEEN. Some of the proceeds of "If We Believe" have been sent to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charitable organization founded by the surviving members of Queen and their manager following singer Freddie Mercury's untimely death of AIDS in 1991. The organization donates funds to worthy AIDS related charities in all corners of the globe.  CD #1 of 1,000, signed by both Lynn and Brian May, was also auctioned off to the highest bidder with all proceeds going to a memorial fund for a special UK boy and Queen fan, Connor Ruscoe.  The funds were donated to his school and hospitals which cared for him in his memory.

"If We Believe" has been played on numerous Internet radio outlets and also on traditional radio, most recently at Oasis FM in the Canary Islands of Spain.  You will occasionally see one of the "If We Believe" limited edition CD singles pop up on EBAY and selling for as much as $50 a piece (10x their original selling price), since they are no longer offered for sale and will not be reprinted. The song, "If We Believe" also appears on Lynn's newly released full length CD "YOU LIKE IT CLEAN", but has been remixed and featuring a new vocal by Lynn, so it is a different version of the song appearing on the CD than the previously released charity single.

Lynn's 11 song CD "YOU LIKE IT CLEAN" also contains a second song graced by the guitar and vocal talent of Brian May - a rocked up, modern version of the classic Pat Benatar hit from 1984, "We Belong". The songwriters of "We Belong" (Eric Lowen & Dan Navarro) also appear on the song singing background vocals to Lynn's lead along with Brian May on the choruses.  Lynn has known the songwriters of "We Belong" personally for a number of years.  Eric Lowen has been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and so it is Lynn's desire to bring attention to this most cruel disease and to support charitable endeavors that will directly help Eric and those who share his condition.  Lynn's version of "We Belong" is a dramatic departure from the original and is expected to create much buzz for the record and draw attention to the 10 other noteworthy songs, ALL written by Lynn in their entirety (words & music).

In addition to Brian May and the writers of "We Belong", there are many musicians of note appearing on Lynn's record.  They include Stacy Jones (drums) and Jamie Arentzen (guitar), frontman and guitarist respectively for popular rock band "AMERICAN HI-FI" (best known for their 2002 hit single "Flavor Of The Weak"), Chris Johnson, programmer of the smash hit single for Evanescence, "Bring Me To Life", Frank Gryner, producer/programmer to many well-known artists such as Tommy Lee and Rob Zombie, Danny Miranda, formerly the long time touring bassist of Blue Oyster Cult and currently the tour bassist for Queen + Paul Rodgers, Sasha Krivtsov
, former touring bassist for such artists as Vanessa Carlton and Billy Idol and currently in the house band of the CBS reality series "Rockstar Supernova" (formerly known as Rockstar INXS), and drummer Mark Schulman, who has toured or recorded with the likes of Cher, Foreigner, Pink, Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow and many other superstar artists.

The record was mixed by Paul David Hager, who has mixed tracks for Pink, Avril Lavigne, The Donnas and many other well-known artists and mastered by Bernie Grundman, long-time mastering engineer to the stars (Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is among the many legendary records he has mastered).

Lynn Carey Saylor is the kind of artist the music industry dreams of ~ a self-contained songwriter, visually attractive and comes to the party with a completed, well-recorded  album of hook-laden, intelligently written and lushly produced Rock and Pop songs, with guest appearances by major players in the music industry. She also has done a considerable amount of self-promotion on the Internet and is well-known to both the music community (she is the winner of four 2005 online music awards - IOMA's as they are known (voted on by 15,000 of her Independent musician peers) and music fans alike (she gains over 1,000 new fans per month on her myspace page).

Lynn is also known on the Internet as the founder of the popular site, GuitarGirls.com, which she founded in the Spring of 2000 in an effort to connect with and help promote up and coming female singer/songwriter/guitarists.  And in addition to her aforementioned support of helping in the fight against the diseases ALS and AIDS, she is also actively involved in anti-drunk driving campaigning.  In April, 2007, she started a myspace page at  http://myspace.com/enddrunkdriving to highlight the strong message in her drunk driving themed song "I Wasn't A Friend" and to connect with others who share her desire to help in the fight to end the senselessness of drinking and driving.

Academically, Lynn holds a Bachelor's degree with honors in Communications (Radio, Television and Film track) and a Music Minor from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is involved in another area of performing arts as an active member of the Screen Actors Guild with small parts in films and television to her credit. Currently, she is gearing up for touring to support her new CD "You Like It Clean" and writing songs for several up and coming artists.
